We would like to throw a huge thank you to Dr Pepper Snapple Group for their partnership in stocking us with our sodas, water, & Body Armor! Particularly, thank you to Ben Skriloff & Jeff Lafollette for all their help in getting this set up! They have been great to work with! Not only are they giving us a great deal on our order, they also donated a Dr. Pepper cooler to keep everything cool! ... See MoreSee Less

NEWS RELEASE:

Durant Fire Department Receives Donation for AEDs

DURANT, IA – November 1, 2017

The Durant Fire Department is getting some new life saving equipment, thanks to a check for $3,000 from River Valley Cooperative and Land O’Lakes Foundation. The donation will be used to purchase two AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) which can be used to administer an electrical shock through the chest wall to the heart when defibrillation is needed.

Orville Randolph, Durant Police Chief, and volunteer firefighter, said that one AED unit will be used in the fire department’s equipment/command van and the other in their main line pumper/primary response truck. Randolph stated, “If we have two separate calls, which occurs occasionally at the same time, we will have an AED available for responders and the citizens involved in both incidents.”

River Valley Cooperative and Land O’Lakes, Inc. are committed to supporting the rural communities where our members, employees and facilities are located. River Valley Cooperative is owned by over 2,700 farm families with operations in 20 communities, employing over 300 people in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
